Davenport, Wayman Eldred "Butterball"

Wayman Eldred "Butterball" Davenport, 65, died on March 1, 2015.

He attended school at Howard High School. He joined the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam where he received several medals of honor. He was formerly employed at the Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Callie and Clarence Davenport; brother, Calvin Lebron Davenport, Sr.; nephew, Dale Anderson; niece, Queena Davenport; and great-nephew, Quatavious Anderson.

He is survived by one sister, Phyllis Diane (David) McKnight, Chattanooga; two brothers, Gregory Davenport, Murfreesboro and Michael Davenport, Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, March 6, in the chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the National Cemetery.
