Dalton State Women's Golf 2nd After 1st Round Of Callaway Invitational

Pine Mountain, GA – The number 8 ranked Dalton State women’s golf team (317) completed the first day of the Callaway Invitational in second place, just four strokes back of Washington and Lee University (313).

The Callaway Invitational is being held at the Par-71, 5,808 yards Lake View Course at Callaway Gardens. It is hosted by Berry College.

Lady Roadrunner Erika Wardzinski had the low score for the day with a two-over-par 73. Washington and Lee’s Mary Francis Hall was a stroke behind. There are 91 golfers.

“It was a good first day,” said Dalton State Coach Jim McGrew. “We put ourselves in the final group and have a chance to win. Hopefully we can handle it the right way and play well Sunday. We are really excited for Erika. She has put herself in position to compete for the individual title as well.”
