An unannounced drug search was conducted Friday at GOAL Academy in Bradley County. The search was coordinated by Office Sam Long, school resource officer, and Lt. Julie Quinn of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department. Two canines were used by the sheriff’s department in the search of the campus and vehicles in the parking lot.
“We are appreciative of the sheriff’s department for providing a school resource officer at GOAL and for helping to keep our campus safe for all the students and staff,” stated Kyle Page, principal of GOAL Academy.
The search resulted in a minimal amount of marijuana being discovered. No tobacco or prescription drugs were found in the search.
This was a planned effort by Bradley County Schools and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department. “This search is a commitment by Bradley County Schools to provide a safe learning environment for all our students,” said Johnny McDaniel, director of Schools. “I appreciate Sheriff Eric Watson and the sheriff’s department for their cooperation and professionalism in this exercise. The principal and faculty at GOAL Academy work diligently each day to provide a quality education for our students in a safe environment.”
