Morning Pointe Of Chattanooga Grand Opening Celebration

  • Friday, February 27, 2015
Chattanooga’s newest assisted living community is filling up fast and holding a grand opening celebration.  The event for Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford is set for March 5, with an open house from 4-7 p.m. and a formal program and ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m.

“This brand new senior living community showcases why Morning Pointe is the region’s choice for assisted living,” said Greg A. Vital, president and CEO of Morning Pointe and Independent Healthcare Properties.
“This building highlights many features that are important to families with an emphasis on staying active and socially connected through a full life enrichment program.

The $9 million assisted living community, located at 7719 Shallowford Road, near The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, features 77 apartments in a craftsman-style building with multiple apartment choices. The landscaped property on ten acres includes three courtyards, covered porches and walking areas.  Special amenities include a bistro and coffee café, an ice cream parlor, and private dining room.  The building also features a library, game room, and a beauty/barber salon. Programming will include a full life enrichment schedule, regular outings, medication management along with wellness and rehabilitation services by local healthcare professionals.

“Our residents and families are thrilled with Morning Pointe’s newest assisted living only community,” said Holly Metcalf, executive director of Morning Pointe of Chattanooga.

Phase two of the new development includes the renovation of the current Morning Pointe of Chattanooga. It is set to reopen its doors next month as the new Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence. The center will offer 59 specially designed apartments for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory loss.  "Innovative and therapeutic Morning Pointe programs such as the SimpleC Companion, The Meaningful Day and Cuddle Therapy will add to each resident’s quality of life and help create a sense of purpose," officials said.

Independent Healthcare Properties, LLC, a Chattanooga, TN-based senior healthcare services company, is the developer, owner and manager of 24 Morning Pointe Assisted Living and The Lantern Alzheimer’s Memory Care Center of Excellence communities in five southeastern states. IHP was founded in 1996 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs, Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow. For more information, please visit www.morningpointe.com.
