Vehicle emissions testing centers in Hamilton County (Chattanooga) closed at 1 p.m. Thursday.

“Customer and employee safety is our number-one priority in winter weather situations, and Hamilton County and TEMA officials have asked motorists to stay off the road until the conditions improve,” said Prentiss Taylor, program manager for the Tennessee vehicle inspection program administered by Envirotest Systems.

“Temperatures are expected to rise throughout the day, and testing will resume as usual tomorrow, Friday.”
