James Harold Holloway, 81, of Pikeville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
Harold was born June 5, 1933 to the late Noland and Idell Holloway. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. Upon his return from the service he worked at Vindales, contracting and construction jobs. His real passion was spent farming. He was of the Church of God faith and was a member of the Pikeville Church of God where he served on the building committee. His desire was to serve the Lord, bless others, and to see all his loved ones in heaven.
Harold was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Dorothy Swafford Holloway; his aforementioned parents; and his brother, Albert Holloway.
He is survived by his 2nd wife, Rita Holloway; children, Karen (Clifford) Roberts, Larry (Zonda) Holloway, Jim (Cindy) Holloway and Vickie (Jerry) Summers; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Jerry (Daphane) Harvey and Jason (Michelle) Harvey; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; brothers, Bob (Dorothy) Holloway and Ronnie (Treva) Holloway; sisters, Thelma Brown, Jewell (Bill) Sexton, Anna Ruth (Greer) London and Connie Dashke; sister-in-law, Frances Holloway; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held at the Pikeville Church of God on Friday, February 27 at 12 p.m. CST with Pastor James Dunn and Ronnie Holloway officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning on Thursday, February 26 from 1-9 p.m. at Pikeville Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Harold's memory to the PCOG building fund.
