New TFWC Officers Elected; Commissioner Griggs Honored For Tenure As Chairman

The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission has elected its new officers for 2015-16 and Jeff Griggs was honored for his tenure as the commission’s chairman for the past year.

Jim Bledsoe was named the TFWC’s new chairman. A Jamestown resident, he served as the group’s vice-chairman for the past year and as secretary the previous year.. He will preside over his first meeting as TFWC chairman in late March.

Harold Cannon, of Lenoir City, is the new vice-chairman after serving a year as the TFWC secretary. Jamie Woodson, of Lebanon, will move into the office of secretary.

Commissioner Griggs was recognized for his leadership the past year and presented a plaque of appreciation by the new chairman. He is ending his tenure as a commissioner. A Lexington resident, he was appointed to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission in 2009 and to the TFWC in 2012. Commissioners James Stroud and Tom Rice (both of the Nashville area) ended their statewide appointments to the TFWC which began in 2012.

The TFWC is the governing body of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
