North Georgia families and community members gathered to celebrate the re-opening of the Women’s Center at Hutcheson Medical Center
Hutcheson Medical Center commemorated the re-opening of its Women’s Center Thursday evening with a community-wide open house event. The event highlighted the Women’s Center’s long-standing relationship with the North Georgia community, welcoming many attendees whose families have seen multiple generations born at Hutcheson. Since reviving its labor and delivery services this past December, Hutcheson’s Women’s Center has delivered more than 70 babies.
“At Hutcheson, we value the profound role we get to play in ushering new life into our local community,” said Sandra Siniard, chief nursing officer at Hutcheson Medical Center.
“We have welcomed thousands of babies into North Georgia’s growing families, and we are thrilled to be able to continue in the tradition of providing quality labor and delivery care to our area.”
During the celebration, the hospital featured local residents who held special memories connected to Hutcheson’s Women’s Center, including Ann Leming, a Hutcheson employee of 25 years, whose three children, three grandchildren and great granddaughter were all delivered at Hutcheson. Cathy Hulsey, an employee at Hutcheson since 1992, echoed Ms. Leming’s legacy with her two daughters and five grandchildren who were all born at Hutcheson Medical Center.
Carolyn Wooten, a Hutcheson employee since 1993, credits the Women’s Center in particular for the care her two granddaughters received at Hutcheson.
“I am thankful my two granddaughters were born at Hutcheson,” said Ms. Wooten, a registered nurse in Hutcheson’s outpatient department. “After both of their deliveries, they had to remain in level II special care for 10 days and received the best care possible. What a joy it is to know that babies are once again being welcomed into the world at Hutcheson’s Women’s Center.”
