Public Meeting For Proposed Neighborhood In East Brainerd Set For Monday

  • Friday, February 20, 2015

Skyfall developer Rick Harris announced that he is hosting an open house for members of the Ooltewah community to learn more about the Skyfall neighborhood proposed for the 2600 block Ooltewah Ringgold Road.

The meeting is set for Monday, at 6:30 p.m. at West View Elementary.

If approved by the Hamilton County Commission at its March 18 meeting, Skyfall will provide 35 single family homes for the area.

The up-scale neighborhood will feature French Country and Low Country architecture with winding roads creating a sense of individual neighborhoods within the community. Mr. Harris noted the attention to detail given to the natural contours of the development’s property.

The neighborhood includes garden homes in the price range of $240,000 up to $320,000 and larger homes with 4,000 square feet of space priced from $360,000 to $500,000. In addition to the 26 single-family residences there will also be nine single family attached residences offering buyers several housing options within the community. Speaking to the neighbors’ concerns, there are no apartments or rental properties included in the development.

Officials said, "With a pond, clubhouse, pool, a playground and a neighborhood dog park there is plenty for today’s family to enjoy.  The Skyfall development will also feature a park like environment with generous landscaping, a shared garden plot as well as a fountain in a round about within the neighborhood."

“Our neighborhood design encourages residents to truly become neighbors,” said Rick Harris of Big Whiskey Land & Cattle. Our winding roads encourage a slower rate of speed making it safer for kids to play outside while our community amenities promote time well spent among family and friends.  We believe that Skyfall will be a great asset to Ooltewah area and look forward to Monday’s meeting.”

Commissioner Smedley said, “I hope the community will join me in attending Monday’s meeting to learn more about the project.  I hope that any questions or concerns the neighbors have will be easily addressed.”

Building on a tradition of quality since 1960, Big Whiskey Land & Cattle builds homes that not only feature the best amenities, but also pay special attention to future needs.  Because of this, the company focuses on thoughtful design that is measured by the HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Index that measures energy efficiency.  The environmentally-conscious company is always looking at the latest in best practices to apply to their construction projects.
