The various Chattanoogan.com daily polls typically ask for a simple YES or NO response about some item of current interest, and have an almost unvarying result.
A brief review of recent poll results shows that regardless of the question, or the way the question is framed, the people who respond to those polls routinely disagree with local, state, and national governing bodies.
So, what does that tell us? It obviously says something about the readers of Chattanoogan.com who are interested enough to respond to the polls; they (we!) disagree with our elected representatives more often than we agree with them.
And it also says something about our governing bodies: They oppose the wishes and will of the people (those people who respond to the polls, anyway) more often than they comply with them.
It makes me wonder if we're really getting the government we voted for and are paying for.
But, then, Will Rogers said long ago, "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for."
I do still wonder, though.
