City Attorney Wade Hinton said some city boards will save costs on running print newspaper advertising by running a single meeting notice ad at the start of the year for all the upcoming meetings.
That will be in place of monthly public notice ads.
Attorney Hinton noted that the meetings will be a set time each month.
Special meetings will still be noticed in the newspaper, he stated.
Notices of each of the meetings will be forwarded to media outlets, he said. They will be on the city's calendar along with details about the agenda.
The city attorney said the boards include the Industrial Development Board and the Health, Education and Housing Facility Board. It may also apply to a board for a new land bank program.
City Attorney Hinton also said the IDB is planning to begin assessing administrative costs for groups that obtain bonds through the boards. He said that will help with staff expenses.
