Ham Thornburg
Henry L. “Ham” Thornburg, 85, of Fort Oglethorpe, died on Monday, November 30, 2015 at his home.
A native and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and north Georgia area, Ham was a member of South Rossville Baptist Church and attended Fairview Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Ham’s Auto Body Repair for forty years. Mr. Thornburg served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was the Past Master of Rossville Masonic Lodge #397 F&AM and received his 50-year pin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ike Thornburg, mother, Plezzie Green, step-father, George Green, and sisters, Margaret Guinn and Jearldine Bryan.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jane M. Thornburg; sons, David (Linda) Thornburg and Eddie (Vickie) Thornburg; grandchildren, Tracy (Brian) Hendrix, Eric (Sara) Thornburg, and Matthew (Sydnee) Thornburg; great-grandchild, Anna Lyn Hendrix; nieces, Diane Lawton, Sandra Milling, and Debbie Porter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Jim Bennett and Jeff Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
