Erma Jeanne Wilson, 95, a long-time resident of Hamilton County, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2015, after a long illness.

She was born in Whiteside, Tn., daughter of Joseph M. Kennedy and mother Cartha Kennedy Suggs.

Jean worked many years in the food services of Hamilton County Department of Education. She was a charter member of Eastwood Baptist Church in the Ooltewah community serving as director of the Wednesday night suppers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah A. Wilson, her parents, Joseph M. Kennedy and Cartha Kennedy Suggs, two sisters, Velma Cox and Audrey Kelley, one brother, Joseph Kennedy, Jr.

She is survived by her brother, Nicholas (Wanda) Kennedy, several nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend F. Ray Walker officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 13 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
