Hutcheson Medical Center Trustee Asks Use Of Funds From Clinic Sale To Obtain DISH Funds

  • Wednesday, November 25, 2015

The trustee for Hutcheson Medical Center is asking to use proceeds from the sale of the Chickamauga Clinic in order to help obtain Disproportionate Share (DISH) funds from the state of Georgia.

Trustee Ronald Glass said, in order to get $1,138,159 in DISH funds, the hospital must transfer $369,333 through the Hospital Authority of Catoosa, Walker and Dade Counties.

He noted the clinic was sold to the city of Chickamauga for $350,000.

Trustee Glass also said he anticipates that claims will be made on that $350,000, including by Regions Bank and Daniel & Yeager.

He is asking for an emergency hearing on the issue for next Wednesday morning.

It was noted that the money needed to help secure the DISH funds must be sent off the next day.

He said it is expected that the hospital would get the DISH funds within 5-10 days of the submission through the Hospital Authority.
