Darrius Starling, 24, Shot Twice In Miller Park After Argument Between 2 Homeless Men; Anthony Thomas Charged

Darrius Starling, 24, was shot twice in Miller Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said it was the result of an argument between two homeless men.

Police said the two men were "associates."

Police later arrested Anthony Thomas, 47.

He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, possession on a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of a controlled substance for resale.

Chattanooga Police responded to the 900 block of Market Street on the report of a disorder between two people. Chattanooga Police then learned that both parties had left the scene.  

The victim was located at the corner of Broad Street and 10th Street suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He suffered two non-life threatening gunshots wounds. 

Thomas was located near the 800 block of 11th Street..

Chattanooga Police continue to investigate this incident.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
