Joe Henry Woodring Jr., 89, of Dalton, Georgia, died at Hamilton Medical Center on Monday, November 23, 2015.
Joe was born, April 30, 1926 in Home Stead, PA to the late Joe and Lille Woodring Sr.; and was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Cora Lorene Woodring; son, Tommy Joe Woodring; daughters, Donna Clark and Cassie Mitchell; grandson, Corey Mitchell; grandmother, Jane Newton; sisters, Novella Mathis and Arzella Gaddis; and brother, Estes Woodring.
Joe and his wife, owned and operated Woodring Rug Company for many years.
Mr. Joe Henry Woodring Jr. is survived by his daughters, Neva and KevinWeaver of Chatsworth, GA and Joy and Chuck Parker of St. Simmons, GA; son,Sammy and Theresa Mitchell of Nashville, TN; son-in-law, Bobby Clark ofChatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Joey and Jennifer Woodring, Chuck and Christie Clark, Mark and Kim Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, April Mitchell, Laura and Luke Turner; great-grandchildren, David Mitchell, Zachary and Andrea Mitchell, Urijah Mitchell, Joseph-Addison, Lily, Marley and Klyde Woodring, Carolina, Ben and Eli Clark, Chelsey, Hank and Troy Turner; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Mitchell; sister, Mable and John Zerbils; and several nieces and nephews.
The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Joe Henry Woodring Jr. will be held on Wednesday Nov. 25, at 4 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel, with the Rev. Chuck Clark officiating. Joe will be laid to rest by his wife in West Hill Cemetery, with Mark Mitchell, Joseph -Addison Woodring, Kevin Weaver, David Mitchell, Joey Woodring, Zachary Mitchell and Sammy Mitchell serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 5-9 p.m.
Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, has charge of the arrangements.
