Chris Anderson Will Run Again For City Council, Not State Senate

  • Monday, November 23, 2015

Chris Anderson announced he will run for re-election for the Chattanooga City Council, and not the state senate.

His announcement said, "There has been a lot of recent speculation about my next steps in government and politics.

"We have a state senator from Chattanooga who shows no regard for our citizens or their concerns. It is my sincere hope and belief that a strong progressive candidate will replace him in the next election, restoring dignity and compassion to that seat. However, that candidate will not be me. I have decided that I can best serve our community by continuing on city council; therefore, I will not be running for state senate in 2016.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the honor of serving on the Chattanooga City Council these past few years. It has been an amazing opportunity to make positive change in the city I love. For almost three years, I've worked in areas of economic development, recreation, transportation and so much more. While I'm immensely proud of the accomplishments of our council and our Mayor Andy Berke, there is still much to be done.

"That's why I'm announcing today that I am running for re-election to the Chattanooga City Council."
