Billie Rose Christopher Hawkins, 87, of Dalton, Georgia, died peacefully on Friday, November 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to the late W.H. and Florie Christopher in Whitfield County; and was also preceded in death by her sons, infant Samuel James Carter, Robert “Bob” Carter Jr. and Daryl E. Hawkins.
Billie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended the Church of God of the Union Assembly growing up and was later a member at Welcome Hill Baptist Church. She attended Dalton Jr. College and was a certified nutritionist. She worked for Whitfield County Schools for a number of years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, W.L. “Mickey” Hawkins of the residence; children, Linda and Danny Daniels of Harrison, TN, John and Sherry Hawkins, Jeff and Regina Hawkins, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Carter all of Dalton; grandchildren, Ty Carter, Michael Carter, Bobby Simpson, Angel Sims, Deanna Crow, Kenneth Hawkins, Daniel Hawkins, Felicia Mullinax, Amy Beavers, Holly Powell, Scott Coker and Brandon Hawkins; numerous great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, David and Val Christopher of Gadsen, AL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Leroy Owens of Dalton, Lorene Roberts of Dalton, Lottie Grant of Chatsworth, Flora Jean and L.C. Owens of Chatsworth; special cousin, Marlene Smith; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Margaret Nunez, Edna Bigandi and Amanda Horne.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in Dawnville United Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 22 after 2 p.m.
