Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church Presents Annual ChristmasFest Concert Dec. 13

  • Friday, November 20, 2015

ChristmasFest is an offering of music that inspires reflection upon and celebration of the Christmas story. ChristmasFest includes many of the familiar melodies we all enjoy during the Christmas season, and also introduces newly-composed material that offers a celebration of the birth of Christ. The concert features the Sanctuary Choir, Westminster Singers, Soloists, and Orchestra. The concert features solos by guitarist Alan Shikoh, bassist Dave Schwab, harpist Caroline Hudson, and organist Jason DuRoy.

The Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir is a 45-voice choir that provides leadership in Worship each Sunday at Signal Mountain Presbyterian.

The choir is made up of volunteers from the church who have a desire to use their gifts to glorify God through music ministry. The choir presents ChristmasFest each year during advent, and presents a program of music every Easter, including leading in Lenten Worship. The Sanctuary Choir has offered concert ministries at Valleybrook Presbyterian Church as well as Alexian Village and Manor House. The choir is under the direction of Steven Ingram, with assistant directors Trish Ferrell Wileman and Jason DuRoy (organist). The choir has two recordings: “Jubilate!” and “Make His Praise Glorious” and enjoys a wide variety of choral and worship literature. The Westminster Singers, ages 9-12 are led by Beth DuRoy and participate in workshops and festivals as well as annual appearances at the MACC Tree Lighting and the Lookouts game.

The concert is on Sunday, December 13 at 6pm at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church located at 612 James Blvd. on Signal Mountain. Childcare is provided and the concert is free. For more information visit www.signalpres.org or call Trish Ferrell Wileman at 423 886-2190.
