  • Friday, October 9, 2015

The Benwood Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant for public art and signage along the South Chickamauga Creek.

Work is underway on connecting the section of the trail that starts near the Water Haven development with the Riverwalk.

It should be ready later this year.

The trail already connects the Water Haven development with Youngstown Road.

After the new section is completed, the only gap will be between Youngstown Road and the start of the Brainerd Levee near North Moore Road and Shallowford.

Also, a parcel of land by the greenway behind the Brainerd Walmart is being donated to the city by OBC Holdings.
