A missing Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was found safe and sound on Thursday. It was noted by deputies, that she was very anxious to get back to her handler and family.

K-9 Deputy Kada, a 50-pound, female Dutch Shepherd went missing late Thursday afternoon from her handler's residence in East Ridge. It is believed she may have traveled as far as the Belvoir or Marlboro, area. Kada is approximately five years old and is very social and good-natured. It is believed she was able to escape by climbing her pen’s wall and working her way under the pen’s roof proving that she is ever as good at escaping as she is catching law breakers.

Officials said, "Please note, the deputies responsible for taking care of K-9 deputies take every precaution to safeguard and protect the security, health, and safety of their partners. The HCSO takes lost K-9s very seriously."

Moving forward, every precaution will be taken to review her pen’s construction as well the manner in which she was able to escape. The HCSO thanked the residents of Hamilton County for their assistance in helping to safely locate K-9 Deputy Kada.

K-9 Deputy Kada was located after the resident who found her saw a post shared from the HCSO Facebook page and contacted local authorities.
