The Chattanooga Mocs softball team wraps up fall play with the annual Blue & Gold game Friday at 4:00 p.m. in Frost Stadium. A presentation of the 2015 Southern Conference Championship rings courtesy of Barbara and Joe Waters and a free cookout follows the scrimmage at 6:00 p.m.
"The Blue and Gold game is designed to be competitive. It gives us a chance to get another game under our belt and lets us show off to our fans and recruits," head coach Frank Reed stated.
The blue team consists of seniors
Criket Blanco and Amanda Ross, junior Katy Richardson, sophomores Cori Jennings, Kailey Palazzolo, Ashley Conner and J.J.
Hamill, freshmen Alyssa Coppinger and Emma Sturdivant and
alumna Marina Wilkerson.
The gold squad is represented by seniors Anyssa Robles, Alyssa Taylor and Sam Taylor, juniors Jesslyn Stockard and Katie Henderson, freshmen Halie Williamson, Katie
Courm and Jordan Fortel, and alumnae Jenny Garcia and Shelby Carter.
UTC played three back-to-back games from Monday to Wednesday, featuring situational scrimmages against Roane State and Chattanooga State and a straight-up format over Bryan College. The Mocs also competed in a circumstantial matchup in September versus Cleveland State.
"Having the three back-to-back games gives us a little more going forward and a chance to evaluate," said Reed. "We've seen enough to know where we need to go and where we want to be in the spring."
Admission to the Blue & Gold event is free.
