Bradley County Fire Rescue, Chattanooga Fire Department, and Cleveland Fire Department have deployed resources to assist South Carolina in the historic flooding taking place there. These agencies have been deployed as part of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association/Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office/Tennessee Emergency Management Agency joint statewide mutual aid system.
The following updated deployments are taking place:
• Captain David Tallent, Chattanooga FD Special Operations, deployed at 7:00 Thursday morning as the new task force leader to replace the task force leader that had been deployed since Saturday.
• A new Bradley County swift water boat team (made up of two Bradley County Fire Department and two Cleveland Fire Department members) will deploy at 7 a.m. Friday to replace the Bradley County boat team already in South Carolina since Saturday.
Floodwaters are expected to crest
Saturday and dams to breach and cause additional flooding to other areas.
This re-deployment will allow fresh crews to be in place and relieve existing crews that have worked tirelessly and made hundreds of rescues, officials said.
