Barbara Clapp Feagans, 74, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

Barbara had courageously battled cancer for almost six years. She was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Princeton, IN. Her family moved to Chattanooga in 1951. She was a 1958 graduate of Red Bank High School.

Barbara worked at Thrasher Elementary School and in admissions at The Baylor School before moving to Crye-Leike Realty as the marketing director. She was incredibly creative and compassionate and served all of these roles with unsurpassed dignity and professionalism.

Barbara was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother. She never missed a performance, presentation, recital, or banquet for one of her children or grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy and she would share her love for them all with everyone she met. There was nothing she would not do for any of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Edith Clapp; in-laws, Horace and Fannie Feagans; daughter-in-law, Julie Feagans; and brother-in-law, Dana Wilbourn.

Barbara is survived by her husband, H.W. Feagans, Jr. “Dub”; son, D. Mark Feagans of Chattanooga; daughter, Allyson Millican and husband Brian of Chattanooga; sister, Sue Clapp Jones (Carl) of Lake Placid, FL; brother, Stephen K. Clapp (Sue) of Windermere, FL; grandchildren, Blake Cameron Feagans, Jack Harrison Feagans, Katherine Grace Millican, and Claire Elizabeth Millican, all of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Dianne Wilbourn of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews, Bill Tittle and wife Valerie, of Virginia; David Tittle and wife Karin of Chattanooga; Becky Cox and husband Brian of Maryville, TN; Bryan Wilbourn and wife Jordan of Ringgold; and Emily Fernandes and husband Diego of Ringgold.

The family expresses our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Stephen DePasquale and the staff at Chattanooga’s Program in Women’s Oncology, Dr. Glenn Newman, and Hospice of Chattanooga for their excellent and compassionate care during Barbara’s long illness.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, and again from 2:30-3 p.m. on Sunday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Hall officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rivermont Presbyterian Church, 5319 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
