Dovie Rigsby, 78, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the local hospital.
Dovie was born March 18, 1937 in Bartow County, Georgia, to the late Swin F. and Eloise Beavers King; and was also preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Evone Rigsby and Frances Coats; and brothers, J.D. King, Gerald King, Tommy King and Swin Lee King.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James A. Rigsby, William Brent and Miranda Rigsby of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Rigsby and Don Crane of Rome, GA and Elaine and James Norton of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers, Everett King of Chatsworth, GA and Lavon King of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Nellie Rigsby of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Abernathy, Brandon Coats, Jason Coats, Micah Norton, Ruthie Rigsby and Allie Rigsby; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dovie Rigsby will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at North Whitfield Baptist Church with Reverend Lillard Stringer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.
