Sue Reed, 81, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Henry and Alice Layne; and a sister, JoAnn Nichols.
Mrs. Reed was the former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 112.
Survivors include her husband, Silas Waylon Reed of Dalton; daughter, Cindy Kennedy of Calhoun; son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Charlene Reed of Tunnel Hill; sister, Willene Ferguson of Heflin, AL; grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Reed, Tammy and Tim Chesser, Krista and Billy Goodman, and Trey Kennedy and finance Janine Boyt; great-grandchildren, Skylar Reed, Taitlyn Chesser, Taylor Grace Chesser, Trevor Goodman and Kai-Lee Goodman; and special friends, Alan Price, Scarlett, Josh, and Charlie Wright, Nick Price and Jenna and Kyndall Cain.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Ron McKinney officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
