Bradley County property crimes detectives filed new charges for Scotty Lee Goodner, who was jailed on charges brought by patrol deputies related to the burglary of two structures on Ridgeview Drive.

An alert citizen spotted suspicious activity on Sunday around the location and contacted the 911 dispatch center. Patrol deputies responded to the burglary-in-progress and upon arrival they took Goodner, 41, and Timothy Lee Cronan, 36, into custody. Deputies found where a garage and storage building had been entered.

They were charged with two counts of burglary, possession of burglary tools, theft over $500 and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional investigation of evidence collected by crime scene investigators during an examination of the two structures and from a burglary investigation two days earlier at the same address, pointed to Goodner as a suspect in both incidents. In the previous theft guns and jewelry worth more than $1,000 were taken.

Additional new charges of burglary and theft over $1,000 have been filed against Goodner by property crimes detectives.  Both suspects provided an address on Woolen Street while being booked into the Bradley County jail.  Goodner is being held on a bond of $35,000.

Cronan, with additional charges of possession of schedule IV for resale, simple possession of schedule VI, and possession of a prohibited weapon, has a bond of $36,500.
