Cleveland Police Department Terminates 3 Officers

  • Thursday, October 1, 2015

Cleveland Police Department Chief of Police Mark Gibson terminated three employees who were part of investigations stemming from a sexual assault complaint to an insurance fraud case.

Chief Gibson said, “The officers of the Cleveland Police Department are held to the high standards of a code of ethics that should recognize the badge of our office as a symbol of public faith. This oath represents our commitment to uphold the law and we accept it as public trust by the citizens of Cleveland who we have sworn to serve and protect. The facts in these three cases, as presented to me by both internal and external investigations, showed an egregious failure of Carl Walls, Chad Nave and Edwin Millan to uphold these standards. I found no other disciplinary alternative other than termination.”

The three officers are no longer employed with the Cleveland Police Department as of Sept. 30.
