Richard Ogden, 22, was shot and robbed during a drug deal at the 5200 block of Dorsey Street early Thursday morning.

Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department responded around 1:43 a.m. to a local hospital concerning a person with a gunshot wound. Ogden initially reported he met two white women in the parking lot of the McDonalds on Rossville Boulevard and agreed to give them a ride. He said as he was driving to a destination unknown, one of the women pulled out a pistol struck him in the head and demanded his vehicle. He said he was then shot in the leg which caused him to wreck.

Ogden later admitted he was there to buy drugs from the women, who in turn shot him and tried to take his vehicle. He was treated for the non-life-threatening gunshot wound and then arrested by an outside agency on outstanding warrants.

No suspect information was provided by Ogden.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
