Pedestrian Venisha Stanford, 66, Struck And Killed In Cleveland

Venisha Stanford, 66, of Alabama was struck and killed oTuesday, at approximately 7 a.m. 

The vehicle versus pedestrian crash occurred at the 1300 block of 25th Street in Cleveland.

She was taken to Erlanger by helicopter; however, she succumbed to her injuries.     

The driver, identified as Carmen Garcia, 70, of Cleveland, was driving a 2014 Kia Soul. The Kia was westbound on 25th Street.

Ms. Stanford was returning to the Economy Inn from McDonald's (southbound).  At this time, no charges have been filed on Mr. Garcia.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a woman lying in the roadway.

Ms. Stanford was transported via emergency traffic to Sky Ridge Medical Center for stabilization. Paramedics in charge requested a medical helicopter. Erlanger’s Lifeforce responded and landed at the landing zone at Sky Ridge. The patient was flown to Erlanger Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
