Family Says Former Judge Walter Williams Expected To Make Full Recovery From Stroke

The family of former City Judge Walter Williams said he suffered a stroke, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Hillary Thomas, daughter of Judge Williams, said, "The Williams family would like to express its sincere gratitude for the expressions of love and support during the recent illness of Judge Walter Williams. As many of you know, Judge Williams recently suffered a stroke but due to God's grace sustained minimal permanent damage.

"We are confident that with proper rest, his superior medical team and your continued prayers that he will make a full recovery. Although we are confident that Judge Williams is well on the road to healing we humbly and respectfully ask that you limit your visits and inquiries at this time so that Judge Williams is able to adhere to the rehabilitation schedule set forth by his caretakers."

Since leaving the bench, he has been a partner in the firm of McCoon, Williams and Hegeman.

Judge Williams is reportedly receiving treatment at a local healthcare facility after the incident.

Judge Williams had joined the McCoon law firm after a colorful tenure as city judge.

He earlier suffered some heart problems.
