Marian Grace Elrod Maxwell, 86, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.

Marian was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a 1945 graduate of Central High School.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway and the Mary Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Y. Maxwell, DDS; step-son, Ron Maxwell and a brother, Taylor Elrod.

Marian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Scottie and Benton Hood; granddaughter and husband, Jackie and Jimmy Przybylowicz; step-children, Gina Crumbliss, Bob Maxwell, and Gil Maxwell.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses with Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and support given to Marian.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. 

A private family service will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her pastor Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Marian’s name to First Baptist Church Golden Gateway, 401 Gateway Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37402 or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.    

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
