Chattanooga Theatre Centre Wins Seven BroadwayWorld Awards In Regional Competition

The Chattanooga Theatre Center garnered seven awards including “Best Community Theater Company” in the 2014 BroadwayWorld regional competition/Nashville division. Les Miserables took five awards, including “Best Ensemble Performance of a Musical,” and Shelia Wofford won “Best Featured Actress in a Play” for her role as Calpurnia in CTC’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird.

“We are pleased to have our work recognized on a regional level,” said George Quick, CTC executive director. “Thanks so much to our friends and patrons who voted us this honor.”

Chattanooga Theatre Centre winners and categories for 2014 are as follows:

“Best Community Theater Company” - Chattanooga Theatre Centre

“Best Featured Actress in a Play” - Shelia Wofford – To Kill a Mockingbird

“Best Ensemble Performance in a Musical” - Chattanooga Theatre Centre – Les Miserables

“Best Director of a Musical” - George Quick – Les Miserables

“Best Set Design” - Sarah Miecielica – Les Miserables

“Best Costume Design” - Scott Dunlap – Les Miserables

“Best Sound Design” - Paul Hughes – Les Miserables

“Best Light Design” - Bill Banks – Les Miserables

"The Chattanooga Theatre Centre, now in its 91st season, continues its award-winning tradition of great musicals with Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods live on the MainStage Feb. 13-March 1," officials said.
