Young, Willis Jay (Cleveland)

Willis Jay Young, 70, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Monday night, January 26, 2015.

Willis was born in Cleveland on September 1, 1944 a son of the late Thomas Young and Catherine Young Cross; and was also preceded in death by three sons, James Eddie Young, Christopher Daniel Young and Michael Jay Young; two sisters, Mary Frances Beaty and Arla Jean Bache; five brothers, Charles, Tommy, Bob, Kenneth and David Young; and his step-father, Ford Cross. 

Willis is survived by one daughter, Darlene Longley; one granddaughter, Faith Young; two grandsons, Josh Peels and Christopher Young; special niece, Tara White; special great-nephew, Taylor White; three sisters, Glenda Bishop and Linda Bishop both of Cleveland and Brenda Eversole (Jerry) of Kentucky; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends. 

A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, January 31 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with eulogist Terry Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Valley Cemetery with Edward Cooley, Snooks Beaty, Criss Caywood, Taylor White, Kenny Bishop and Jerry Eversole serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
