The Kinge's Quire

Chattanooga Music Club's February Concert will feature the Kinge’s Quire on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 North Moore Road.

The Kinge's Quire was formed in 2008 to sing music from the Renaissance, as well as modern anthems and motets in the English choral tradition. The concert will include music by Philip Stopford, Will Todd, Dan Forrest, Henry Purcell and others.

The group is dedicated to offering opportunities for young singers to sing advanced choral literature.  Many of the members of the choir have a background that includes home school education, either as a student or as a parent.

In 2011 The Kinge's Quire performed a concert for the Tennessee State Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.  The group director is Gerald Peel, an alumnus of Southern Adventist University, and UTC.

The choir will be accompanied on select pieces by Joshua Knight, organist, and string musicians from the Southern Adventist University Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is free an open to the public. Contact Buddy Shirk at 529-0315 or via email buddy@summittpianos for more details.
