Parkridge Health System Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

Parkridge Health System has appointed James Paskert, MD, as Chief Medical Officer.

A plastic surgeon by training, Dr. Paskert has spent much of his 27-year medical career in healthcare leadership roles. He comes to the Parkridge system from a position as chief medical and quality officer for Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, Ca. Prior to his work in California, Dr. Paskert served as regional chief medical officer for the Washington County Hospitals of the Mountain States Health Alliance in Johnson City, Tn. His past experience also includes roles such as vice president of Medical Affairs for City Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va., medical director for a W. Va. multispecialty practice, and quality assurance chief for a Baltimore-area acute-care hospital.

Dr. Paskert has also served as a healthcare consultant for several organizations throughout his career, including the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Board of Examiners, the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance, the Social Security Administration, Med-Eval and the Maryland State Surgical Association.

Dr. Paskert earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lafayette College and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College. He performed an internship in General Surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital, and a General Surgery residency with the Harvard Surgical Service at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. After completing his residency, Dr. Paskert served as a Microvascular Surgery research fellow with the Johns Hopkins Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He also performed a Plastic Surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. 

Dr. Paskert is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as a member of the American College of Physician Executives, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American College of Medical Quality.
