Christmas Nights Of Lights Comes To Camp Jordan

  • Tuesday, September 30, 2014

The East Ridge Parks and Recreation Department announced Camp Jordan Park will present the Christmas Nights of Lights.

This drive-thru Christmas light show will open on Nov. 15 and run through Jan. 3. The show will begin nightly at dusk and run through 10 p.m. with extended hours on the weekends.

Parks and Recreation Director Stump Martin said this is something the entire family can do together.

“My favorite is the singing Christmas trees, but I love the 22-foot high tunnel of lights that is more than 250 feet long where vehicles drive through," said Mr. Martin.  "These type light shows are featured not only here in East Ridge, but at the Bristol Motor Speedway, Sevierville, Nashville, Mobile, Ala., Richmond, Va. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.”

Christmas Nights of Lights has hundreds of thousands of LED lights, driven by more than one thousand computer channels, synchronized to both traditional and new Christmas music playing through the car radio.

People are urged to pack their vehicles full of friends and family and visit the Christmas Nights of Lights at Camp Jordan Park I-75, Exit 1.

The Christmas Nights of Lights experience is $25 per car, including tax and up to nine people are permitted per vehicle.

The 1.5 mile experience ends into Santa’s Village where there will be photos with Santa Claus, Christmas items for sale, games, gifts, inflatable’s, good food, rides and more.

“The Santa Village will be run by the East Ridge Fire and Rescue Department with proceeds going to the Needy Child Fund,” Mr. Martin said. “Chief Mike Williams and his team of firemen are hard at work to make this a good experience for those who attend. The proceeds will allow many children to have a more enjoyable Christmas.”
