Locally owned Lookout Mountain Flight Park is unveiling a newmural celebrating the recreational spirit of Chattanooga and its history in the sport of hang gliding. An open house will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Lookout Valley.
Representatives from the Flight Park will be present to offer information about how hang gliding has rooted itself in the community and to offer guidance to anyone that is interested in learning "to soar with the birds."
Lookout Mountain Flight Park began teaching students to fly hang gliders in 1978 and has since given thousands their wings and the opportunity of a lifetime. They are located just a few minutes south of Chattanooga in Rising Fawn. Visit www.hanglide.com, for more information.
