Marian Blackwell
Marian Jacqueline “Swafford” Blackwell, 73, died peacefully on September 15, 2014 in Seattle, Washington, where she was spending time with her loving son, grandchildren and sister.
She was born on Feb 16, 1941, in Bakewell, Tn., to Charlie Leon Swafford and the late Zelma Omega Wilson.
Marian worked various jobs and her last job was Ford Motor Company in Flatrock, Mi.
Marian leaves behind her loving father, Charlie Leon Swafford of Chattanooga; five loving children, Robert A. Cureton (Carol) of Winnetka, Ca.; Angela R. Martin (Joseph) of Beaumont, Tx.; Terrell S. Benbow of Cleveland, Oh., Rhonda L. Benbow of Beaumont, Tx.; and Deamon L. Blackwell (Curtisa) of Seattle, Wa.; six sisters, Mary “Cattie” Floyd of Renton, Wa.; Maxine Swafford, Evadine Swafford of Houston, Tx.; Sharon Cook (Ricky) of Huntsville, Al.; Kim Strickland (Lewis) of Chattanooga; Deborah Wilkerson (Van) of Dayton, Tn.; sister-in-law, Susan B. Swafford; three brothers, Charlie Leon Martin(Suzette) of Chattanooga; Morris Martin (Rena), Soddy Daisy Bryant Martin (Sandra) Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Robert L. Dale (Deanna), Oak Park Mi.; Annalise of Kent, Wa.; Japoria, Kerra, Atia, Myricle of Beaumont, Tx.; Terrell Cureton of Cleveland, Oh.; Tamesha, De’Ajhante, Deamon and Dae’Vion of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Robert of Oak Park, Mi.; Ashton of Beaumont, Tx., and Ruby of Seattle, Wa.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3–5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, in the chapel at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
