During a community meeting, it was announced that the Enclave at East Hamilton project will no longer feature luxury apartments, instead featuring only commercial and retail space.

The Enclave will be located between East Brainerd Road and Ooltewah-Ringgold Road.

Phase one, which is set to start in 2016, will involve constructing turn lanes on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road into the entrances.

The construction will continue into 2022 and also involve creating a signalized intersection for the middle entrance.

The site will maintain a natural buffer zone between the nearby housing that will be 80 feet on the south boundary and 100 feet on the east boundary.

Additional trees will also be planted.

The sign for the site will be a constructed clock tower at the intersection of Brainerd Road and Ooltewah-Ringgold Road. No neon signs or billboards will be allowed.

For the buildings in the site, a village theme has been decided upon. Buildings will have to meet specific appearance standards and no building can be more than two stories.

Prohibited uses include car lots, storage, night clubs, adult-oriented business, tattoo parlors, check cashing, pawn and apartments.

Currently, a minimum of five percent of the site must also be green space. One tree must also be planted for every 20 parking spaces.
