An Ambi Artists creative meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 6-8 p.m. atHeritage House Arts and Civic Center, 1428 Jenkins Road.
Based on "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron, Ambi Artists is a “cross-pollinator” where creatives of all stripes gather to reignite their creative spark. Typical get-togethers include writers & poets, fine artists & sculptors, photographers & filmmakers, just to name a few.
Ms. Cameron states, "It is my belief and my experience as a teacher that all of us are healthy enough to practice creativity.
It is not a dangerous endeavor requiring trained facilitators. It is our human birthright and something we can do gently and collectively. Creativity is like breathing – pointers may help, but we do the process ourselves.
Creative clusters, where we gather as peers to develop our strength, are best regarded as tribal gatherings, where creative beings raise, celebrate, and actualize the creative power which runs through us all."
Meeting attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish, non-alcoholic beverage, side or dessert to share. "Although not required, attendees may also bring a recent artwork or 'work-in-progress' for positive feedback and further inspiration," organizers said.
