  • Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Celebrating over five decades of presenting national touring talent to the community, Bradley Concerts is launching their 2014-2015 concert season with the announcement of artists to appear in the upcoming series.

Season tickets to the five-concert series are $60.  Single tickets are $30. All performances are held at the Conn Center on the Campus of Lee University For more information, call 473-1114 or 715-5662.

Organization president Nancy Casson said, "This is a season you won't want to miss.  We're especially happy for William Florian to open the series.”  Mr. Florian is the former lead vocalist for famed folk ensemble “The New Christy Minstrels.”  He will present his production of “Those Were the Days” on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.

Reviews for the artists:

“Those were the Days” celebrates the high-point of popularity for folk music, the 1960s. William Florian is an icon of the period, providing the lead vocal for the hit single “Today” recorded by “The New Christy Minstrels.”  The continuing successes of his tours are a testament to the depth of passion that persists for this genre.  Mr. Florian’s performances also include a wealth of humorous firsthand accounts of his experiences with luminaries such as John Denver.  He has recorded three self-produced albums.

“Let’s Hang On!” is a dual tribute to “Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons” and Broadway sensation, “The Jersey Boys,” set for Nov. 20.  Backed by a live band.

Al Simmons will be Feb. 5, a “tour-de-force of ingenious, charming silliness" is a highly inventive and wacky one-man show.

“Good Company” will be March 16, a collective of performers and writers who share a passion for the history and future of American music.  They will present a wide-ranging program of classic hits and thoughtful original compositions with a live band.

Encore Presentation: Jason Coleman, grandson of the legendary Nashville pianist Floyd Cramer, continues his family’s tradition in this nostalgic and entertaining tribute in his return visit to the Conn Center on April 16.

Bradley Concerts has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists since 1958.  This all-volunteer nonprofit organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of the Cleveland-Bradley area through live performances.  Thanks to the generosity of Patrons and Sponsors, these concerts can be offered at affordable, family friendly prices, said officials.
