Neke Flengas, 90, longtime resident of Signal Mountain, died peacefully in her sleep.

She was born in Greece and in 1969 came to the United States and began her cleaning business.  She greatly enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook.  She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetreos and Olympia Katsaros; former husband, Nick Flengas; sisters:  Evridiki Sypsas, Julia Gouvitsa and Eleni Kouros; and brother, Loui Katsaros.

Survivors include her sons, Pete Flengas (Zelma) of Soddy Daisy and Demetreos Flengas (Danean) of Chattanooga; grandchild, Amy Flengas; great-grandchildren, Cadyn and Jakob; sister, Georgia Melias; several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her daughter-in-law, Danean Flengas, Zelma Croft and Soddy Daisy Healthcare for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Father Stavros Ballas officiating.  Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park. 

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, with a vesper service at 7 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
