Tennessee and the War of 1812 Program is September 29

The Chattanooga Area Historical Association and the Local History and Genealogy Department of the Public Library invite you to attend "Tennessee and the War of 1812."  The event is free and open to the public, and will be held on Monday, September 29 at 6:00 pm at the downtown library.

The speaker will be Linda Mines, Chairperson of the History and Social Sciences Departments at GPS.  Ms. Mines is the official City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County Historian, the Immediate Past President of the Greater Chattanooga Habitat for Humanity Board, a member of the Boards for the Chattanooga History Center, the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park Education Council and the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians, a consultant to the Tennessee Humanities Council for the Civil War Commemoration and the Vice-Chair of the Hamilton County Courthouse Centennial.

 She also serves as First Vice-Regent of the Chief John Ross Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in which her emphasis of service is to our veterans and Wounded Warriors.
