The next Honor Flight for veterans leaves from east Tennessee’s Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport on Oct. 1 for Washington, D.C. David Nelson, veteran of WWII and the Korean War, is being sponsored by the Prudhomme Fort Chapter of Colonial Dames XVII Century.
Veterans are contacted to participate in a day of honor. They board a plane, receiving a patriotic send-off. They travel with every amenity to provide for their comfort and care. A tour of memorials fills the day, with the emphasis being the WWII Memorial. Snacks are provided during travel and an honor luncheon is provided in Washington, D.C.
