Violet (Donohoo) Wilkerson Jones, 87, of Cleveland, TN, died on Monday, September 1, 2014 in a local hospital.
She was born on June 2nd, 1927 to the late C. Arnold Donohoo and Elizabeth J. (Fairbanks) Hysinger; and was also preceded in death by her step-father, Charles Hysinger; husbands, James Cannon, William Wilkerson and Robert Jones; one daughter, Phyllis (Cannon) Sava; and one brother, Charles A. Hysinger.
She is survived by her sons, John Wilkerson of Ohio and Ronald Wilkerson and his wife Bernice of Birchwood; one daughter, Connie Wehunt of Cleveland; son-in-law, Anthony Sava of Ohio; grandchildren, Tonya Tuiach, Anthony Sava, Sara Klopfenstein, Kristin Schaffner and Seth Wilkerson all of Ohio and Ronald "Bo" Wilkerson of Georgetown; step-grandchildren, Barry Gibson and Gina Ammonds; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Patsy Lane.
A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, September 4 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Joey Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Earls cemetery with her family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends in the chapel on Wednesday, September 3 from 6-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday, September 4.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Chattanooga Heart Institute or the American Cancer Society in Violet's memory.
