Blair, Franklin Earl (Dalton)

Franklin Earl Blair, 81, of Dalton, GA, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Regency Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carrie Blair; sisters, Gladys Henderson, Sybil Lowery and Linda Denton; and brothers, Hershel, J.W., Malcolm and Johnny Blair.

Mr. Blair was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Carpets of Dalton. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Anders Blair of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and David Holt of Ringgold; sons and daughters-in-law, DeWayne and Heather Blair, Michael and Melandie Blair all of Dalton and Mitchell and Sheila Blair of Rocky Face; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and Don Plott of Newborn, GA, Juanita Cooper of Lafayette, GA and Carolyn Skidmore of Rutledge, TN; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Brenda Anders of Dalton and John Anders of Laporte, IN; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jillian Keener of Ringgold, Tyson and Tamara Holt of Parrish, FL, Taylor Blair, Haley and Jesse Wright, Briley, Hannah, Jase, Jacob and Caleb Blair and Heather Bass; great-grandchildren, Gage and Ava Keener, Kayden Holt, Bridge and Avery Blakey and Landon Bass; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Blair will be held Saturday, September 20, at 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Darey Kittle and Rev. Raymond McCranie officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyson Holt, Billy Hughey, Jeremy Keener, Jamie Ray, Jessie Wright and Wesley Lowery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 19 from 5-9 p.m. 

Funeral arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton.
