Wilfredo “Wil” Jose Murillo, 60, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Wil born in Managua, Nicaragua to the late Angela Rosa Mendoza Rojas and Wilfredo Socorro Murillo Ortega. He worked as an assistant vice president in Corporate Real Estate for Unum Group for over 32 years. Wil was a member of Urban Land Institute, CCIM Institute (former board member of East Tennessee Chapter), Building Owners and Managers Associating (BOMA), former president of BOMA Chattanooga, Notre Dame High School former board member, volunteer for Chattanooga Food Bank, English/Spanish translator for needy families in Chattanooga Public Schools. Wil was honorable discharged from the United States Marine Corps. Wil worked hard all his life but his proudest achievement was his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Wil was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfredo Socorro Murillo Ortega and Angela Rosa Mendoza Rojas.

Wil is survived by his wife of 40 years  Sandra Elizabeth Weekley Murillo of Hixson; daughter, Angela Murillo (Jake) Nye of Hixson; son, Michael John (Justine Augeri) Murillo of Washington, DC; granddaughters, Ashlyn and Ailey Nye of Hixson; grandson, Sebastien Murillo of Washington, DC.; and sister, Lorena Murillo Molina of New Orleans.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 2-6 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

There will be no services.

A private interment will be Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
