Police Blotter: Man Forgets To Pump Gas; Next Customer Gets It; Officers Deal With Chili Dispute

  • Wednesday, September 17, 2014

A clerk at the Kangaroo Express on Shallowford Road said a man paid for his gas, but he was busy talking on his cell phone and he left without pumping it.

An alert follow-up customer got the first man's gas.

The man who had paid returned a short time later. The clerk informed him that there was nothing she could do for him.

The clerk said the man vowed to "send his boys to blow the windows out."

He was described as a bald black male weighing over 300 pounds.

Police said a black male helped himself to eight canisters of Raid Max Bug Barrier insecticide at the Family Dollar on Tennessee Avenue.

The man, who was wearing a red hat, made his get-away in a red Ford truck.

Domingo Reyna of Boriss Street said someone drove through his gate, knocking it down.

The burglar then entered his unlocked garage.

He is missing two TVs, a dress and a pair of high heel shoes.

Stephen Sberna of Fifth Street said a homeless man was under his deck smoking pot.

He was concerned that he could ingest the smoke from the marijuana and test positive on a drug sample.

Police said that was unlikely.

Officers were summoned to 10th Avenue where the Thackers were in a row over "the type of chili they were eating."

To calm things down, Tammy Thacker stayed at the residence, while police gave Heather Thacker a ride to another relative's on 45th Street.
