  • Tuesday, September 16, 2014
Officials from Hamilton County Emergency Services, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and Walgreens will host a press conference at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Walgreens, 110 N. Market St.

The press conference will promote September as National Preparedness Month, offer ideas to individuals and families on being prepared for disasters and emergencies, and recognize the contribution of first responders in the community.

National Preparedness Month highlights how preparedness can prevent injuries and deaths, or loss of property, in a disaster.
"Tennessee state government is committed to being an active partner with local government, the private sector and non-governmental organizations to ensure that Tennesseans can be better protected from all hazards," officials said.
